This ship concept was created for the game Star Atlas. I designed out the overall TUFA ship look and feel and focused on creating the Feist in 3D (Blender) after doing a bunch of design passes in 2D.
This is a bit different to most of the stuff I have up here... It's is the first time I have tried getting an actual render that is useful for an Illustration out of my 3D. I have used a lot of 3D block ins for ships and other tech stuff in the past (Using sketchup back in the day, but never gone into shaders and rendering. It was an interesting process. I ended up doing a lot of paint over as well to get the look I wanted for the final images.
The overall TUFA design was also a cool project. The idea was to create a ship that was half rock asteroid half ship and make sure it could transform to cloak itself. And to see how this would look in it's natural environment (hiding out in an asteroid field!)
